SIGN OF RECOGNITION OF IMAM MEHDI

The Prophet ﷺ said: The world will not come to an end until Allah (s.w.t) raises up a man from my family, whose name will be same as that of mine and whose father’s name will be the same as my father’s, who will fill the earth with equality and justice as it has been filled with oppression and tyranny.
Ahaadith similar in meaning to this hadith is recorded in different books, e.g. Musnad Ahmed(1/376/3572), Sahih Al-bukhari(7275), Abu dawood(4282) and Tirmidhi(3230). Tirmidhi has graded this as Hasan Sahih. Sheikh Al-Bani has also graded this hadith as Hasan Sahih.
Narrated Umm Salamah, Ummul Mu'minin (R.A):
The Prophet ﷺ said: The Mahdi will be of my family, of the descendants of Fatimah
(R.A).
Narrated Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (R.A) :
The Prophet ﷺ said: The Mahdi will be of my stock, and will have a broad forehead a prominent nose. He will fill the earth will equality and justice as it was filled with oppression and tyranny, and he will rule for seven years.
It was narrated that 'Abdullah ibn Masud (R.A) said:
"While we were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, some youngsters from Banu Hashim
came along. When the Prophet ﷺ saw them, his eyes filled with tears and his color
changed. I said: 'We still see something in your face that we do not like (to see).' He said: 'We are members of a Household for whom Allah has chosen the Hereafter over this world. The people of my Household will face calamity, expulsion and exile after I am gone, until some people will come from the east carrying black banners. They will ask for something good but will not be given. Then they will fight and will be victorious, then they will be given what they wanted, but they will not accept it and will give leadership to a man from my family. Then they will fill it with justice just as it was filled with injustice. Whoever among you lives to see that let him go to them even if he has to crawl over snow’".

It was narrated from Thawban(R.A)that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
"Three will fight one another for your treasure, each one of them the son of a ruler, but none of them will gain it. Then the black banners will come from the east, and they will kill you in an unprecedented manner." Then he mentioned something that I do not remember, then he said: "When you see them, then pledge your allegiance to them even if you have to crawl over the snow, for that is the caliph of Allah, Mahdi."
The ahaadith mentioned above clearly describes the characteristics and achievements of Imam Mehdi along with his name. The characteristics and achievements described can be summarised as follows:
1. It is clearly evident that he will be from the lineage of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ of the descendants of Fatimah (R.A).
2. His name will be same as that of RasoolAllah ﷺ and his father‟s name will be same as that of RasoolAllah‟s ﷺ father.
3. His forehead will be broad and his nose will be prominent.
If a person has a broad face and prominent nose and he claims himself to be Imam Mehdi
then he‟s nothing more than a liar. There are thousands of people with broad faces and
prominent noses in this world. These are not the only characteristics of Imam Mehdi, he will
have all the characteristics which are clearly mentioned in the ahaadith and his achievements will better tell the ummah that he is the promised Imam Mehdi. It will not be
possible for a liar to fill the earth with justice and rule for seven years. When Imam Mehdi
will come it will not be difficult for the ummah to recognise him. His accomplishments in the
light of clear ahaadith will make his identity known to the ummah.
A Hadith is reported in ibn e Majah with following wordings:
"Three will fight one another for your treasure, each one of them the son of a ruler, but none of them will gain it. Then the black banners will come from the east, and they will kill you in an unprecedented manner." and accomplishments of Imam Mehdi along with his name, his father‟s name and his lineage. There are liars who come with many vague evidences about Imam Mehdi but in reality, they don‟t have any valid proof in real matters related to Imam Mehdi.

and accomplishments of Imam Mehdi along with his name, his father‟s name and his lineage. There are liars who come with many vague evidences about Imam Mehdi but in reality, they don‟t have any valid proof in real matters related to Imam Mehdi.

It was narrated from 'Ali (R.A) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Mehdi is one of
us, the people of the Household. Allah will rectify him in a single night."
In the light of various other ahaadith it is evident that during the time of arrival of Imam Mehdi there would be a lot of doubts and conjunctures in the understanding of the truth (Al- Haq) and the falsehood(Al-baatil). It would not be possible for a common man to differentiate the truth form falsehood on the basis of knowledge and reasoning. Lies and deception would have distorted the image of the truth such that the clear picture of the truth would not be accessible to common people. It would be impossible even for the pious people to differentiate the truth from falsehood.
This doesn‟t mean that no one will be on al-haq or no one will be ready to sacrifice for the deen of Allah (s.w.t). Rather, here the question is about the real picture of truth. The clear distinction between the truth and falsehood. It is necessary for the help of Allah (s.w.t) to come to the Muslim ummah that the truth be pure from the effects of falsehood. Even prior to the arrival of Imam Mehdi the ummah on the side of al-haq would be doing everything thing they could do for al-haq but, they wouldn‟t be free from the effects of falsehood and they wouldn‟t be able to separate the truth from falsehood completely. Thus, the party of truth will be getting help from Allah (s.w.t) but they will not be getting absolute help from Allah(s.w.t). Allah(s.w.t) will raise a person from the family of Muhammad ﷺ who although will be very pious and religious but, despite this he will be like a common man. Allah(s.w.t) will purify him from all the effects of falsehood in a single night through afflatus. The things which were confusing and hazy for the ummah to understand would now be clear for Imam Mehdi to understand without any conjuncture. Imam Mehdi will separate the truth from falsehood and all the doubts and confusions would be clear for him to understand. Haq will be in its pure and undistorted form. Baatil will be completely separate from Al-haq and will organise itself in one party and truth will form another group free from falsehood. After this clear separation of truth from falsehood, Allah(s.w.t) will grant the Muslim ummah complete victory over the party of Shaytan. The following hadith describes the background of these events clearly:
May Allah (s.w.t) give us the clear understanding of ahaadith and may He (s.w.t) protect the
Muslim ummah from the fitnah of Dajjal and may He (s.w.t) protect the Muslims from the
agents of Iblees.Aameen.

When we were sitting with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, he talked about periods of trial (fitnahs), mentioning many of them. When he mentioned the one when people should
stay in their houses, some asked him: Messenger of Allah, what is the trial (fitnah) of staying at home? He replied: It will be flight and plunder. Then will come a test which is pleasant. Its murkiness is due to the fact that it is produced by a man from the people of my house, who will assert that he belongs to me, whereas he does not, for my friends are only the God-fearing. Then the people will unite under a man who will be like a hip- bone on a rib. Then there will be the little black trial which will leave none of this community without giving him a slap, and when people say that it is finished, it will be extended. During it a man will be a believer in the morning and an infidel in the evening, so that the people will be in two camps: the camp of faith which will contain no hypocrisy, and the camp of hypocrisy which will contain no faith. When that happens, expect the Antichrist (Dajjal) that day or the next.
This hadith basically describes the two parties of Muslims. During the last times a major population of Muslims will deviate from the straight path and turn into hypocrites. They will abandon the truth openly will be Muslims just for the namesake. In reality they will be devoid of imaan completely. This party will be strongly attached to the falsehood and will fight the Muslims alongside the enemies of Allah (s.w.t).
All this will create an earthquake for the fortress of maliciousness and virulence and the
Dajjal will emerge with full anger. This party of Muslims steadfast on al-haq, will give a
strong resistance to Dajjal under the leadership of Imam Mehdi to an extent such that in
the last phase their prayers will be answered by the Lord of the heavens and the earth
and `Isa (A.S) will descend from the heavens.

these traits will make them strangers. This party of Muslims will challenge the falsehood
under the leadership of Imam Mehdi. The party of Muslims which will be steadfast on al-
haq will not be deluded by the deceptions and delusions of falsehood and they will not be
fooled by the various types of double dealings of the hypocrites and will be a special
group in the history of mankind. Despite being out numbered, al-haq will emerge with its
powerful signs. Nusrah of Allah (s.w.t) will grant the Muslims victory and make them
dominant and they will flourish on earth. The party of Allah will shake the structures of
the party of Shaytan with its core structure. Devotees of al-haq laden with purity and
originality in deen will ruin the radiance of falsehood. This enlightened group will remove
the veil from the glittery darkness of falsehood. The fearless sound of the truth will shake
the apparently beautiful fortress of deception and darkness.
The signs of recognition and the achievements of `Isa Ibn Maryam (A.S) and Imam Mehdi are mentioned clearly in various ahaadith.People of Qadyani or similar background who come with different names to misguide the ummah from the right path to send them into the hell. They change the meaning of ahaadith to achieve their goals. They take help from weak or fabricated ahaadith and abandon all other strong ahaadith to achieve their satanic goals. The messenger of Allah ﷺ has warned the ummah from these people.
Narrated by Abu Hurairah (R.A) that the messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
There will be liars and cheats who will tell you ahaadith that was never heard by you or your
forefathers. Beware of those people for they will get you indulged in fitnah (tribulations)
